About Me:

Like everyone else on this planet, I am simply a person looking for creative and meaningful ways of connecting with the world and the Universe - my version of god.

Philosophically, I lean toward the Buddhist teachings, but I can't seem to make my self sit still long enough on a cushion to feel like I could ever call myself a Buddhist. Hiking and yoga are my forms of moving meditation. I can manage to incorporate breathing and being present into the middle of my busy days, so I figure I must be on the right track.

I just left my position as a senior development and marketing director for a public radio station to start my own social media company supporting the non-profit sector. I'm deeply committed to the ideas of philanthropy, civic engagement, and volunteerism. I've been working in the nonprofit world since I was 21 and can't ever imagine leaving. Mission driven work is what fulfills me.

I've worked for a few grassroots organizations, and am passionate about activism and making change in the world. The causes closest to my heart are equal rights for the LGBT community, mental illness awareness, reproductive rights, environmental justice, and finding a cure for cancer.

Outside of work, I share my life with my partner of 10 years and our three cats. I read, hike, love going to concerts, need to be with my friends, thrive on lively heated discussion, and continually search for answers and meaning.  Gardening and great movies bring me joy.

I believe that true connection with other human beings is the most challenging and equally rewarding aspect of being alive. Connection helps us make meaning, inspires us to grow, and makes us afraid. It is when we dip our toes into that fear that the universe opens up to embrace us.
